Encouraging Aviation

ATTC at Singapore Seletar often hosts students from other institutes to come and make a visit of their Aviation College facilities and today we had a large group from Temasek polytechnic. When they visited the hangar, they obviously gravitated towards the few Aircraft parked there including the latest completed project of Jeteezy Pte Ltd, namely the Lake 250 Amphibious Seaplane re-assembling project.

The students obviously took many pictures, some of them have posted their pictures on instagram and similar networking sites as we talked about in the hangar. Our MD Capt. Anup Murthy and Maintenance Engineer Chris Chua were on hand to explain about this unique Aircraft and it's capabilities. The idea is to encourage more and more young people to take up Aviation as a career option and to further encourage those who have already thought about it seriously.

Earlier in the day, we had interns from ITE working at Aerospace Companies at Seletar Aerospace Park also visiting us. They are already one step ahead of the normal students in that they have found internship to gain experience in the aerospace technical field.

One of the young ITE graduates interning with an aerospace company was keen on the flying aspects of aviation as well and found a lot of joy in being in the cockpit, even if it was inside a hangar! The pictures above shows the joy and enthusiasm of this young woman

Jeteezy will always be an encouraging voice in the development of aviation activities in S. E. Asia and being based in progressive Singapore.

We are pleased to announce that we have successfully completed the re-assembling of the Lake 250 Seaplane in Singapore at our facilities. The Aircraft also underwent a ground run prior to certification. Test flight to be conducted next week by our test pilot and Managing Director Capt. Anup Murthy.

Seaplane above, same one we have been posting while re-assembling it in Singapore in our earlier posts. This is a new venture and a unique project that no other company in Singapore has undertaken, a feather in the cap of Jeteezy promoters and supporters.

A Big Thank You to our customers and supporters, this seaplane will be the first of many in the Asian region that we will be handling works on. Great to be associated with promoters of Hampshire General Aviation as well.

Our team of technicians, Aircraft maintenance engineers, just before we did a ground run of the engine for the first time since the Seaplane arrived in a container.

Jeteezy team were the end to end solutions providers for the Lake 250 Seaplane, engaged from dismantling it in the U.S.A., containerizing the same, exporting to Singapore for re-assembling project and now coming to the last stage of delivery.

LAKE 250 ARRIVES IN SINGAPORE

UPDATE: 28 October 2013

Following our last blog post about shipping the Lake 250 Seaplane from United States to Singapore, we are pleased to announce that the same has arrived in Singapore.

Our work is to begin the process of re-assembling the Aircraft, test flying and certification of the Aircraft before delivering to Hampshire Capital Ltd, , for their operations in Indonesia and beyond.

There will be updates from time to time on the work progress and post test flight and delivery process. For Jeteezy Pte Ltd, this is the first major work for reassembling a dismantled Aircraft and there will be many more such projects in the pipeline in future.

We see this as an exciting opportunity to expand the business of being a fully integrated one-stop-shop for Lake 250 Seaplanes and all other types of Amphibious Aircraft for the Asia-Pacific region.

SINGAPORE AIR SHOW-POST SHOW BLOG

We had blogged about the opening ceremony of the much anticipated Singapore Air Show 2012. This blog is our assessment of business activity during trade days of 14th-17th February 2012. Firstly, we were under no illusions when we attended the show that this event was going to be dominated by Airlines making large buying announcements. This happens after protracted negotiations, sometimes lasting years before a sale-purchase is inked.

(At the main entrance to the Exhibit Hall)

This time the spot light was an Indonesian Airline, Lion Air, who placed an order for 201 Boeing 737 Max Aircraft for a record $22 Billion. They didn't stop there, next on their shopping list was ATR where they inked a deal for 27 ATR 72 turboprop Aircraft. These Aircraft are valued at list price around $600 million , surely Lionair would have worked out a far better deal. Last but not least, they picked up two hawker 900XP Corporate Jets for their charter business. There were many other deals related to large Aircraft acquisitions and even the COMAC C919 Aircraft that were, predictably, picked up by Bank of China (BOC). There are many news sources on the internet that have details about the show and the photos from the event. Our Facebook page and twitter page also contain photos and details live from the event.

(The Boeing 787 Dreamliner was a star attraction on the tarmac)

There were a few Executive Jets, Turboprops and other GA Aircraft on the static display outside on the tarmac. Pictures of those are also available on our Facebook and our twitter page under " recent images". Those pages have videos featured as well.

(Viking Tiwn Otter 400)
Chalets were alongside the static display area, various large companies held their meetings, discussions and deal making there. In the overall scheme of things, it appeared to be a very successful air show, confirming Singapore Air Show's position as the Third Biggest Air Show in the World today. Inside the main hall there were hundreds of exhibitors, some 900 confirmed companies participating, and that made things very busy inside the hall. There were the usual issues with organizing something so big but most of the issues were handled well and expeditiously except for their wireless internet which really never improved over the 4 days of the show and as far as phone 3G services were concerned, that really was a let down as well. There are areas for improvement but the feedback from the Air Show organizers isn't satisfactory, as in receiving no feedback from complaining to their twitter account. Lets hope the next show, to be held two years from now will be better in terms of such communications infrastructure.

As we mentioned, the Airline sector did well and there were some noises from Defense sales but none that was dramatic enough or one that warranted major headlines space on TV or papers. The F-15SG from RSAF was there, the F35 JSF was there and while they were crowd pullers, they didn't do much in terms of sales. Spectacular aerial demonstrations, as usual with all air shows, happened with the participation of the Malaysian Air Force "Smokey Bandits" flying their smokey MiG 29s.

Indian participation in this show was mainly Government of India and Defense dominated booths. The India discussion forum was well attended unlike the South east Asia forum but the latter was more informative than the former in terms of GA. There weren't any big ticket announcements from Indian buyers for any Aircraft. Maybe they are waiting for making announcements at the Hyderabad Air Show to be held at Hyderabad, India from March 14 - 16, 2012 (trade days). However, as most Airlines in India are swimming in red ink, any announcement made by them needs to be evaluated on it's merits (or lack thereof). Indian Corporate sector may see some buying activity and some from the Government sector, neither of them have monetary issues plaguing them that cannot be handled!

(Our Banner)

We will end this blog with a piece about General Aviation. Exactly as mentioned in our opening remarks above, there really wasn't much focus on GA outside of a few Corporate jets sold. We spoke to a number of companies representing GA and they had mixed results from being exhibitors at the show. Some like Piper Aircraft, had large stalls at the show and were seen having many meetings. We wish them well in this region and they have made some inroads into fleet sales to Flight Schools in the region. We had good meetings with Air Tractor and Field Air Australia (Air Tractor dealers for Asia Pacific). The USA pavillion had a large presence including a few GA companies in the mix. Major Countries that had their booths were The Netherlands, featuring Fokker Services and Fokker Services Asia. They had a good show with FSA inking a deal for maintaining ATR turboprop in the region. We wish FSA all success, their new Hangar facilities at Seletar Airport is state of the art and capable for servicing and heavy maintenance of a number of F100 jets and turboprops.

(Part of the Singapore Pavillion)

Local flight schools, Aircraft Maintenance Schools (ATTC Singapore) and aviation related employment placement companies such as Aerospec (Singapore) saw good turnouts at their booths. General Aviation Centre MAJ Aviation of Singapore who operate the Youth Flying Club at Seletar Airport, Singapore. They attracted some student crowds. As for us in particular, we had a good show in terms of networking and in terms of re-establishing some ties in Aviation that we had before and strengthen some of the partnerships. We are hoping that some of our efforts translates into benefits for the company and it appears that we are on the right track for that in 2012.

End.

PS: We will download more of our photos of the show from our cameras and post the same at a later date.

Year End Cheer and plans for 2012

2011 has been an interesting year, a better one compared to the previous year and Jeteezy has made steady growth in the process. As we complete year end closings of accounts and penning new agreements to start taking effect from next year, we look forward to a busy 2012.

Firstly, we are happy to be moving to a location at Seletar Airport by mid Jan. We will be doing our Lake Amphibious Aircraft sales from that location as well as providing all the services that Jeteezy is known for, with the addition of managing a few private jets as well.

We may scale down third party charter flights in order to focus more on sales and leasing of our owned Aircraft stock. Our markets in Sri Lanka, India has expanded to include Malaysia, Indonesia and Bangladesh. Where we have leasing opportunities for the Lake Amphibious Aircraft, we shall position in those markets. There is a lack of leasing companies in the region, especially with respect to smaller Aircraft. We see a niche opportunity for that business in 2012.

We are expanding staffing as well, in addition to one more pilot, we are adding a specialist to assist in special operations configuration for the Seawolf amphibious Aircraft and another Administrative Assistant, both joining in January 2012. We are injecting fresh capital into the company to take its goal forward through the year ahead. The Jet engine efficiency improvement program that has started with our US main partner this year will also continue next year. It may take the entire year of testing and product development before the product becomes available for commercial use Worldwide, after extensive certification process. Watch this space as well!

We will have a presence at the Singapore Air Show in February 2012. Meeting some of our clients and guests from overseas during the period will cement ties further and expand the market. Niche markets may grow better than traditional businesses in 2012 and we are positioned to provide services for the same. We would like to take this opportunity to convey our Seasons Greetings and a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year to all our friends, well-wishers, clients, customers, providers and so on. All the best for 2012! May it be a banner year for all.

Cheers!

This is to announce that our Medical Evacuation Flights capabilities have started with a Learjet 60 with Lifeport Medical stretcher system for evacuation of critically ill patients or those that are in dire emergency of an airlift. The Aircraft has a flight range of more than 2400 nautical miles (more than 4445 Kilometres)  and can cover most of South and South East Asia from Singapore. We have connections with the best hospitals and the best facilities in the region for the same.

We have also made arrangements for an empty leg charter network, promoting it as an ex-Singapore operation with various International affiliations. At our disposal we have Challenger 601, Challenger 605, Hawker 800XP, Learjet 60, Falcon 2000 Easy and so on. All of these Aircraft are operated under Part 135/NSOP charter certificates, with professional crew and excellent maintenance. Drop us a line at: captanup.murthy@gmail.com

The work related to Aircraft engines is on-going, our U.S.A. principle is in talks with a large Aviation company whose details cannot be divulged at this point in time. They are equipped with the means to provide Gas Turbine Engine testing facilities and the ability to manufacture monitoring and managing equipment related to Standing Waves and Engine performance enhancement technology. We hope to achieve the first mile marker before the end of the year. 2012 promises to be the year of innovation for us.
